Who We Are

Keshet Learning Center is a fully licensed, private community-based early childhood center (CBECC) in Midwood, Brooklyn that has been in operation for more than three decades.

We welcome children from infancy through age four, with separate classrooms for babies, toddlers, 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds.

We offer full day 3K and PreK for All in conjunction with the NYC Department of Education during the school year for all children born in the appropriate years.

Our Misson

At Keshet Learning Center, we believe in the importance of developing the whole child, ages birth through 5 years, in all domains of learning. We offer a child-centered program in a warm, nurturing and safe environment in the hopes that all the children who attend our facility can begin to develop to their fullest potential. We also recognize that the children’s families are an important part of their development and need to be connected through home-school relationships.

Keshet is focused on providing a Jewish introduction to learning in a fun-filled dynamic environment staffed by a professional, warm, loving, and creative staff.

Our History

The Keshet story began in October 1990, founded by Elysa Kaufman, MSpEd, SAS/SDA, a young mother who, seeing the need for longer days for working mothers, opened a small Jewish daycare program with three small children in Midwood, Brooklyn. As other mothers learned about Keshet, its popularity grew from year to year.

Today, some of the teachers at Keshet are grown-up graduates of the Learning Center; many of our students are the graduates’ children!
